Question / Issue:

I understand that Apple mobile devices and TVs have a feature that tracks my location and history to serve up ads. Can I disable this?

Apple discusses this issue and how to disable it on their support page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202074 You can disable both interest-based ads and location-based ads. Apple states that they will serve up ads based on your "search history and Apple News reading history" Apple also states that they "do not know or make available to advertisers information regarding your sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or political affiliations." To us, this seems to contradict their practice of using your reading history of news to serve ads. You can read more about the ways Apple tracks you at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205223
